13. I place the flower buds, using a mixture of alizarin crimson, burnt Sienna and orange red. I put a very condensed shade e take out, with the brush, a little of this paint from the left side of the buds, in order to obtain a light effect.

14. I start to work a part of the background that was not worked before, i.e., inferior right side, which will be lighter. The paper is still damp, and I mix a little of Indian yellow, leaf green and magnesium green.

15. I go back to the roses, now on the upside down rose, emphasizing the orange red. The strokes are diagonal and in curved direction.

16. I start to define the composition's background, making strokes in the diagonal. I condense this background with sap green, cobalt blue and a little burnt Sienna.

17. I then start emphasizing the diagonal direction of the composition, add one bud, now in a transition shade among the colors of all flowers, i.e., an orangeish shade, using deep cadmium yellow and a little orange red.
